PART 1

Hello, and in this section we will show you what you can achieved with only 2 tester posts and wax, we also used Fiddes Hard Wax Oil, we use this on all items we do it gives the drawers the finishing touch and makes them as good as new ok moving on, hope you find these helpful.

An old vintage sideboard we found on the net
it was Unloved and Unwanted.

Stage 1.
Remove the drawers, and strip the item down and fix anything that need fixing once stripped Clean/sand all surfaces

Stage 2.
Choose your 2 colours you want to use.
Stage 3.
Tip some of the paint into a larger pot and water it down 2 to 1, 3 to 1 or 4 to 1
even 5 parts water to 1 part paint, its for the first coat, the paint goes along way.
PLEASE ADD A LITTLE WATER TO START THEN ADD MORE IF NEEDED
THE MORE WATER YOU ADD THE MORE OF A WASH THE PAINT BECOMES..
Stage 4.
Start painting once you have done the first coat wait till its dry
then add a second coat if needed.
Mask the sides of the drawers for a clean finish.
Clean the details if needed.
Stage 5.
Clean the inside back, outside and shelves and then start to build the unit back up.
Stage 6.
Once the paint is dry Wax all over, you can use Hard Wax Oil on the shelves, drawer inners and top ect.
TIP when wax oiling mask all the edges as it stains the chalk paints.
also the drawers we sand them & re-stain them before waxing the rails so they open and close smoothly, they also look and smell clean and fresh.
Stage 7.
If you want a 2 colour unit follow steps 2 and 3 and mix the 2nd colour other wise
paint it all the same colour.
Stage 8.
Add the details to the units carvings if needed or just dark wax.

Step 9.
Fix the doors back on, stand back and admire
Then use your new item and enjoy it……And that, my friends, is the end of another post from
Forgotten Favourites Hope you like it!
